Simpson Housing Services
Simpson Housing Services began in 1982 as an overnight shelter at Simpson United Methodist Church. Today, more than four decades later, Simpson is a trusted community leader helping people experiencing homelessness move toward housing stability.
Each year, Simpson partners with approximately 1,600 people — including 300 families with 650 children —providing housing, shelter, and supportive services across Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, and Carver counties.
In January 2026, Simpson opened Simpson Community Shelter & Apartments, bringing together shelter, housing, and supportive services under one roof. This welcoming space features 72 shelter beds, 42 supportive homes, an on-site health clinic, and community-centered amenities designed to promote dignity and healing.
Through a proven Housing First approach, Simpson moves people quickly into housing and surrounds them with the support they need to thrive.
