On a chilly, February evening, during the Great Depression, 7 frugal businessmen sat in the unheated basement of the Wisconsin Telephone Building casting their vote to determine the credit union’s first President. At a time when President Roosevelt gave his “Fireside Chats” in response to the banking crisis, recession and the New Deal initiatives, the credit union commenced in an effort to provide financial services to the people who needed it most, the underserved.
Over 80 years later, Heartland Credit Union, still committed to serving people in need, has immersed into the local communities we serve and works with families, farmers and small businesses to deliver products and services for the enrichment of all.
