Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI) is a statewide nonprofit organization providing free civil legal services to Delawareans in need, helping to ensure equal access to justice.
Purpose
At CLASI, we transform lives and communities through individual legal representation and broader impact advocacy for Delawareans who need it most.
At the heart of our work is representation in individual cases, helping to ensure that everyone can access justice regardless of their background or financial circumstances. Each day, we help protect our clients’ legal rights, enable families to meet their basic needs, and assure that can access the services and supports they need to live healthy, stable lives.
We also work for broader community and statewide change, informed by the challenges our individual clients face. We leverage our resources to help thousands more Delawareans than we otherwise could on a case-by-case basis. We work to change laws, policies, and practices that negatively affect our clients and their communities, and to enforce the laws meant to protect them.

Vision
CLASI provides high-quality civil legal aid to individuals and communities in order to promote a more just Delaware. We protect and advance the most fundamental rights of people across Delaware, including people living in poverty, individuals age 60 +, people with disabilities, victims of crime, and survivors of domestic violence.

CLASI’s mission is to achieve equal justice through creative and persistent civil legal advocacy that protects Delawareans’ most fundamental rights and secures access to basic needs.
