Whitmer teacher Bernadette Terry has formed a partnership with Dr. Baptista, Director of the University of Toledo Plastination Laboratory. Because of this partnership, Mrs. Terry and a small group of her students are invited to the UTMC Anatomy Institute for hands-on learning.
The Candlelight Walk is an annual event that promotes drug- and alcohol-free lives. Students in all grade levels and their parents take a pledge to remain drug and alcohol free. The night culminates with a walk around the Whitmer campus.
Whitmer HS hosted the first annual Victory Day in August 2013. The event teaches high school students servant leadership and community giving. Victory Day provided 25 cognitively and physically impaired children the opportunity to play football or cheer and have their "moment in the sun" on the football field.
Superintendent Hickey and high school staff members are active participants in the pep rallies at Whitmer. Friendly competition between staff and students is always fun.
