Workforce Development, Inc.
Workforce Development, Inc. (WDI) is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to developing and advancing the workforce. Incorporated in February 1984 under its original name Southeastern Minnesota Private Industry Council, WDI has a long history of serving the needs of job seekers and employers in Southeast Minnesota.
Our mission is to develop and advance the workforce of Southeast Minnesota.
WDI services are focused on low-income and disadvantaged populations dealing with multiple barriers to achieving meaningful employment. On an annual basis, WDI serves thousands of people through career planning and pre-vocational skill training.
WDI delivers its services through 11 area offices located throughout Southeast Minnesota. Six of these locations are designated as Minnesota WorkForce Centers, in which multiple agencies deliver related services for job seekers and employers. WDI delivers services on behalf of the state of Minnesota and local counties. In addition, WDI manages special projects for the federal government and private foundations.
