To understand why Coloplast is a Best Place to Work, it’s important to understand our story, which began in 1954. Elise Sørensen is a nurse. Her sister Thora has an ostomy and is afraid to go out in public, fearing her stoma might leak. Listening to her sister’s problems, Elise conceives the idea of the world’s first adhesive ostomy bag. Our vision at Coloplast is to set the global standard for listening and responding by delivering on our mission to make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs. Our company was built on Elise listening to her sister’s needs and responding by creating a solution that would make Thora’s life easier. Our vision is to set the global standard for listening and responding. At Coloplast, we constantly strive to develop this mindset.

We accomplish this by staying true to our values: CLOSENESS to understand our customers' needs is the guiding principle in everything we do. PASSION motivates us to find new ways to do things better and to bring the best ideas quickly to those who need them. Our 180,000 square-foot facility in Minneapolis is, LEED Silver-certified campus with great amenities include glass walls that maximize views of the river and downtown, state-of-the-art R&D facilities (with a cadaver lab and training rooms for doctors and nurses), full-service cafeteria, coffee bars, indoor/outdoor dining, fitness center, and rooftop deck.
