Youth In Need
Believing in the power of potential, Youth In Need's mission is to build on the strengths of children, youth and families so they find safety, hope and success in life. With nearly 400 staff at more than 15 locations throughout a 100-mile service area in six Missouri counties, Youth In Need is a leader in providing a continuum of care to children and families from pre-birth to age 21. Serving more than 8,000 clients each year, programs focus on three areas (crisis prevention, crisis intervention and crisis recovery) and include infant, child and family development, Head Start and Early Head Start, emergency youth shelter, transitional youth housing, homeless street outreach, Safe Place, child, youth and family counseling, school-based counseling and foster care case management.
Purpose
Founded in 1974 by community volunteers, Youth In Need provides residential treatment, early childhood education, counseling and outreach programs to more than 10,000 children, teens and families each year in six counties in eastern Missouri.
