Additional Culture Details
The main differentiator between company A and company B is culture. The foundation of Wilber culture can be summed up in 3 ideas: people before profit, hard work and fair dealings, and keep it happy–keep it fun. A new team member is introduced to these principles on their first day. Wilber team members are invited into a company profit share after their first 30 days. Team members also can suggest volunteer opportunities for organizations in the area that are important to them. Hard work and fair dealings speak to our value-added proposition to new team members. We will work hard to make them more valuable to a new company (if they ever decide to leave) than they were when they came. Keep it happy – keep it fun comes in the form of contests, games, food, monthly and quarterly parties, the list goes on. We live out these principles every day and within a team member’s first 90 days, they go through culture courses where they learn about our mission, vision, and values. They learn about why we do what we do and how that impacts ourselves, our community, and the world around us, as well as given tools to help manage finances successfully. They are also instructed on goal setting (family, work, social, physical, and intellectual goals). We encourage team members to set SMART goals in each of these goal areas to stay well-rounded and balanced. We also encourage team members to facilitate work-life balance which is critical to learning, assimilating, and performing.
