WIELAND was founded by Don Wieland in 1958, and today the company is lead by Don's son, Craig Wieland. Craig strives to know every single employee by their first name, something he does by having a photo gallery of every employee on his office wall, helping him put a name with a face. Craig also writes a personal e-mail to every new employee, welcoming them to the company. Craig's commitment to the "personal touch" spills over to the culture at WIELAND and each of its offices. WIELAND's culture is marked by accountability and transparency. Although WIELAND is not perfect, it encourages its employees to learn together by sharing good and bad experiences and by always striving for the perfect construction project and for the most satisfied customer. Employees at WIELAND enjoy a dog-friendly environment, regular celebrations (if a project receives a perfect score from an owner, the entire company gets a party), and monthly recognition of its Mission and Core Values when employees nominate their colleagues for fulfilling the company mission.
