Virginia Lottery
When you play Virginia Lottery games, you are helping contribute to the education of public school students across the Commonwealth. Your dollars make a real impact, and you get to have fun while making a difference. We here at the Virginia Lottery aim to create fun games, promotions, and experiences for our players, all presented in the most responsible and ethical manner. We operate entirely on revenue from the sale of lottery products and generated more than $934 million for Virginia’s public schools in Fiscal Year 2024. Along with providing lottery games, the Virginia Lottery Board has the expanded role of licensing and regulating mobile sports betting and casino gaming in the Commonwealth. Taxes collected from sportsbook and casino operators benefit priorities determined by the General Assembly.

Additional Culture Details
Employees of the Virginia Lottery work together to support both the culture and the strategy of the organization. The Lottery’s FY25 strategy is built upon three pillars: Lottery, Employees and Compliance. In support of the operations side of our business, Lottery, we are focusing on managing the games portfolio, retail distribution and best practices, and building stronger relationships with our players. In our regulatory role, Compliance, we will focus on the upcoming sports betting application renewal period, maintaining relationships with the established casinos, and continuing to build a regulatory structure. At the heart of both the operations and regulatory sides of our business, are Virginia Lottery’s employees. We work each day to establish an inclusive culture, professionally develop employees and look to the future through succession planning.
