Purpose
When metal additive manufacturing (or 3D printing) emerged, it came with a promise that it would unlock design freedom for engineers. They would be able to manufacture any part they needed, no matter how complex. It would enable innovation at rates never before seen.
However, this promise was never fulfilled. Conventional 3D printers could never achieve most geometries without supports or other internal structures that would need to be removed through machining. Velo3D is now fulfilling the promise of Additive Manufacturing (AM), allowing engineers to design and build any part they want without compromise. Through our end-to-end solution and SupportFree technology, we are keeping the promise of metal additive manufacturing. Mission
Velo3D’s metal additive manufacturing technology combines hardware and software into an end-to-end solution. This includes Flow print preparation software, the Sapphire family of metal printers, and Assure quality assurance software. These are all combined into our Intelligent Fusion manufacturing process, which intelligently manages the information flow, sensor data, and the advanced printing technology for precision control of the entire process for multiple mission-critical industries.
We simplify the adoption of metal additive manufacturing so engineers can focus on designing and building the parts they need. Unlike conventional additive manufacturing technologies, which require extensive design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) to turn a design file into a print file, we allow engineers to simply upload a standard CAD file to print the parts they need. This is unprecedented within the additive manufacturing industry. As you need to scale-up production, it’s easy to add another printer to your fleet of Velo3D Sapphires thanks to our ability to print identical parts across different machines.
