Utah Food Bank
Utah Food Bank has been Fighting Hunger Statewide since 1904. We are proud to say each dollar donated creates $7.66 worth of goods and services, with 95 cents of every dollar directly supporting our services. Before COVID-19, 374,000 Utahns were food insecure, with 1 in 7 kids unsure where their next meal was coming from. The pandemic has only increased that number, with an estimated 165,000 more Utahns needing food assistance, many for the first time. The sudden increase in need has brought with it extraordinary hurdles, but our staff has met these challenges head-on - with adaptability, determination, and generosity.

Additional Culture Details
Our employees are engaged in our passion to fight hunger. They have many opportunities to work with the community, volunteers, and local organizations for food drives, 10k/5k races, our annual gala and other activities. Many of our employees have been employed with the food bank for the majority of their careers. Quarterly we participate in cleaning the food bank in teams. The team with the cleanest area is awarded with a traveling trophy. The holidays are always a great time of year for the food bank, but our employees kick off the holiday season in October! Utah Food Bank loves Halloween and it is a huge celebration time for our employees. Each department competes by decorating their areas and on Halloween we open to the public and employee families for our annual "Trick or Treating" and kids event that we host. Many of our employees dress up that day as well. Utah Food Bank considers itself to be a large employee family.
