Purpose
Our organization's mission, activities, and outreach all intentionally focus on the Black population that has experienced significant disenfranchisement and discrimination. We are a culturally specific organization with strong ties to the Black communities of Oregon and SW Washington. Our organization operates in service to Black communities and all services, programs, and projects are designed specifically to meet the needs of Black people, by Black people with lived experience in race issues.

The Urban League of Portland is committed to serving African Americans in Oregon and SW Washington. We are a viable and sustainable organization with a vision of a region and community where all African Americans live in a just and equitable community with equal access and opportunity to thrive.

The Urban League of Portland helps empower African Americans and others to achieve equality in education, employment, health, economic security and quality of life.
