The University of St. Thomas is a Catholic, liberal arts, comprehensive university, and the largest private higher education institution in Minnesota, with more than 10,500 students.
Its mission is: “Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to be morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely and work skillfully to advance the common good.”
St. Thomas offers 90 bachelor’s degrees, 47 master’s degrees, two education specialist degrees, one juris doctorate and three doctorates in the following seven academic divisions: College of Arts and Sciences; College of Education, Leadership and Counseling; Opus College of Business; School of Engineering; School of Law; School of Social Work; and the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity.
The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association has accredited the university, and programs in business, divinity, education, engineering, law, professional psychology and social work have separate accreditation from their national or international organizations.
