One of the oldest institutions of higher education in the U.S., the University of Delaware (UD) traces its roots to 1743. UD is one of only a few institutions with Land, Sea and Space Grant status. Classified as a research university with very high research activity, UD offers courses in a broad range of disciplines, including 3 associate’s, 147 bachelor’s, 119 master's programs, and 54 doctoral programs through our seven colleges and in collaboration with more than 60 research centers. Our student body includes more than 17,000 undergraduates, 3,600 graduate students, and 780 students in professional and continuing studies. Our distinguished faculty includes internationally known authors, scientists and artists, including Nobel Laureates, Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellows, members of the National Academy of Engineering, National Academy of Sciences, and American Association for the Advancement of Science.
