Tri-North was founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1981 as a General Contracting firm by three friends with a vision for the future of construction. For over 40 years, Tri-North has continuously expanded its footprint to include all 50 states, and also expanded its services to include pre-construction, general construction, construction management, design-build, cost estimating, and LEED (green) consulting services.

With three nationwide offices, Tri-North places a strong emphasis on team members and their families; offering childcare services through our daycare center at the corporate headquarters. In 1995, Tri-North became an employee-owned company. Tri-North believes that fostering a fun, diverse, and interesting workplace is just as important as any project that we may be working on, and that is part of the reason why our employees stick with us.

Tri-North has a team-oriented culture. Specifically, team accountability is stressed above individual accountability. We believe that successful teams are those where peers manage performance with one another. The role of management is not to settle small problems and constantly monitor every individual. Instead, peers are empowered to immediately and respectfully address concerns with each other. Much of this includes having an open-door approach. Employees are welcomed to voice their thoughts with procedures and protocol, which has significantly boosted morale and engagement. Leadership also strives to be open and supportive to feedback. Additionally, Tri-North prioritizes maximizing individual potential to ensure that employees know they are vital contributors to the team with their ideas and opinions.

Tri-North is also committed to ensuring that our people are happy, engaged, and feel valued. This takes many shapes, including monthly breakfasts and lunches, regular check-ins, a PTO purchase program to encourage volunteering, plus occasional giveaways and happy hours.
