The Squires Group, Inc.
Since 1995, The Squires Group, Inc. has been dedicated to serving the Mid-Atlantic region with expert talent solutions. Our systems integration partners and commercial clients have continued to turn to us for our ability to attract expert local ERP, IT, Cyber and Accounting and Finance talent–and to rapidly assemble regionally-based project teams with proven track records.
As we celebrate over 20 years in business, our consultants continue to support a variety of companies and projects from business process engineering through implementation, upgrades, production support, training and web-enabled implementation/integration. During the past year, we have also filled positions in the Human Resources and Administrative Support areas.

Purpose
The Squires Group, Inc. provides exceptional talent solutions in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), IT, Cyber and Accounting & Finance to public and private sector clients. We are based in Annapolis, MD and serve clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic area and select national markets.
Vision
To be the most trusted talent solutions partner for our clients and consultants.
Mission
To deliver successful talent solutions to a select group of the area’s most exciting clients. To provide the region’s best and brightest talent with challenging, local, long-term projects. To offer our internal staff a flexible, engaging and open work culture that embraces a “get it done while having fun!” atmosphere.
Additional Culture Details
Our culture is defined by innovation and we believe that delivering effective outcomes for our client's starts before we deliver any services to our clients. How? The Squires Group, Inc., in part, delivers effective outcomes based on the innovation and creativity of our employees.
One of the best ways we continue to foster this is by working in a flat organizational structure. We’ve realized that our team is more inspired, creative and productive when they are more directly involved in the decision-making process, rather than closely supervised and directed by many layers of management. To add to that, our workspace is open (no doors for management) so that ideas flow daily and on-the-fly solutions are regularly put to work to solve business challenges.
The majority of our service innovation is created during our weekly “All-Team” meetings, where our entire internal staff meets over a catered lunch. The primary goal of these meetings is to discuss client, consultant, and internal operational challenges, how to overcome them, strengthen our recruiting efforts, and improve our operational business processes. In fact, a number of our company “best practices” were born in our All-Team meetings, while everyone was brainstorming on ways to take our business to the next level. Along with providing lunch during our meetings, we also like to get the wheels turning by creating a “get-it-done while having fun” atmosphere (which is actually part of our mission statement). Recently, we’ve been giving a crisp $50 bill on the spot for a “Heads-Up Play” bonus to staff members that find creative solutions to daily challenges. And the ideas are flowing in!
More often than not, we’re hosting a contest of some sort to help continuously improve our business process. Two great examples were contests where we challenged our infrastructure team to create an acronym that we could reference when qualifying candidates for a position. Right after that contest, we challenged the team to create a companion acronym that we would use when we are defining a technical requirement for any of our clients. In fact, the idea for creating these acronyms came from a Senior Recruiter on our team that recognized that we needed to sharpen our collective saw to deliver on our vision of being the “most trusted talent solutions partner” for our clients and consultants.
After all the contest entries were received, the entire team voted for their favorite; “REMOTIVATOR” for qualifying consultants and “IN THE PERFECT SPACE” for defining the perfect client requirement. Our clients like this approach so much that it has become a central theme that you can find right on the homepage of our website. You can find out more about how this approach works for our clients and our consultants here: http://www.squiresgroup.com/perfect-space/.
Each winner received a cash reward for their creative suggestion of improving the way we do our business. Not only has the use of these acronyms helped us become more detail-oriented and kept us organized, they’ve helped increase our bottom line on both the consultant and client sides.
Another incredible example of how we cultivate innovation is by recognizing our field consultants with “The Consultant of the Quarter” award. One of our first winners of this award was a long-term field consultant that recognized when Oracle upgraded their ERP software to version R12 that our team would need updated training, which could be a very expensive proposition and take time away from their billable work. Our consultant had the idea to purchase a server with the new Oracle R12 software pre-installed to create a “sandbox” environment for our consultants to explore and “play” with new features and functionality of the software. Brilliant!
After setting it up, all of our Oracle ERP employees had access 24/7, where they could learn more about R12. To quote one of our Senior Oracle employees “The Squires Group Oracle R12 Sandbox gave me more comprehensive access than what one of the global consulting integrators was offering to its own employees.” This initiative was particularly effective because our consultants that received the training were selected as key resources for our clients’ future R12 upgrade, which went live the summer of 2015!
This extraordinary initiative all stemmed from a consultant knowing that he could approach our team with an idea; a prime example of what we strive to achieve–a comfortable, positive atmosphere that encourages creativity and innovation to “Build Great” for our clients every day.
