Robert W. Pereira founded The Middlesex Corporation (Middlesex) in 1972. Through his vision, drive, and commitment to safety, quality, and excellence, the organization, now encompassing numerous companies operating throughout the Northeast and Florida, has become a leader in the heavy/civil and paving industries. In 2022 The Middlesex Corporation was ranked by ENR as the 203rd largest contractor in the country out of more than 35,000 construction companies and 45th of the Top 50 Domestic Heavy Civil Contractors.
We are headquartered in Littleton, Massachusetts, with local corporate headquarters in Orlando, Florida, and a regional office in West Haven, Connecticut. Additionally, we are prequalified and licensed to work in 14 states along the east coast and Southeastern United States. We design, build, and reconstruct highways, bridges, marine, rail, and transit facilities, and provide midstream gas and electrical transmission/distribution construction services.
