In the Comptroller’s Office, we have one mission: to make government work better. Our Office is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of Tennessee state government. The Office is led by Comptroller Justin P. Wilson, a Constitutional Officer who is elected by the Tennessee General Assembly.

Purpose
Serve the people of Tennessee by contributing to the protection of the public trust and promoting the public interest, enhancing effective public policy decisions at all levels of government, and fulfilling operational and oversight responsibilities as may be assigned with the highest possible degree of excellence, efficiency and effectiveness.
