Vision
At Support Services of Virginia, Inc. (SSVA), our vision is Dedicated to a Positive and Peaceful World. This vision was established by our founder, Kay Mirick, who believed that every person deserves to be valued, respected, included, and empowered to live a meaningful life. Although Kay passed away from ovarian cancer in 2005, her vision continues to guide our organization more than three decades later.
For us, a positive and peaceful world is one where people are recognized for their strengths rather than their limitations, where diversity is embraced, and where individuals have opportunities to pursue their goals, build relationships, and fully participate in their communities. We strive to create this vision every day through person-centered supports, positive practices, and meaningful partnerships with the people we support, their families, our employees, and our communities.
