Purpose
Superior Electric Great Lakes Company (“SEGLC”) is a 100% employee-owned company. While companies speak about culture, we live it every day. Culture is the very core of our existence and part of every aspect of our business. SEGLC employees are equal leaders who must be collaborative team builders as owners of our company. Our success is based upon the contribution of each employee-owner. This is a game changer for culture. SEGLC employees work for and are responsible to each other. Because we are in this together, there is no “climbing the corporate ladder” or undermining another employee. We all have a direct impact on and profit from our personal commitment to work and the incredible people who are an extension of our family. There is a place for everyone in a “team-first” belief that is inclusive of and committed to each other. We win by working together as a family, supporting our core values and mission.
Vision
Our vision is to create the most rewarding work environment where employee-owners can thrive, maximize company value, build employee legacy and deliver exceptional service.
Mission
Our mission is to build a company culture that is invested in each other, driven to deliver superior service, and committed to sustainability that fulfills the ESOP promise and creates a legacy for the next generation.
Additional Culture Details
We are compassionate and take the time to understand and take care of each other. When one of us is facing a challenging time, hurting, sick or grieving, we rally. We give our employees time to work through life’s trials – we have set up meal trains, built ramps for wheelchair bound employees, helped move employees into new homes, taken up monetary collections, relieved the burden of overwhelming medical bills, accommodated schedules for new babies/puppies, provided flex time to care for aging parents – all in the name of caring for one another. Our compensation and benefits allow our employees to provide for their families while planning for their future. Every decision is driven by what is “best” for employees – not the bottom line. While we have a fiscal responsibility to the business, the leading principle of “taking care of the employees” has always paid off in profits and in our success. We have fun! Our leadership team drives this. We have spontaneous popcorn breaks, cornhole games, Friday afternoon gatherings in the cafeteria filled with music, homemade spaghetti sauce/meatballs lunches, barbeques and much more. Formally, we host annual events that are open to our families. Even our four-legged friends are welcome in the office. Above all, we preserve and protect our culture.
