District is a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, formed in 1959 pursuant to state law, for the purpose of providing park and recreational
services for District residents. The District serves nearly 137,000 residents through its recreation centers, outdoor pools, golf courses, miniature golf
courses, BMX track and ice arenas; and manages 3,722 acres of parks and open space, and 115 miles of trails throughout the south metro area.
Extensive programming involves tots to seniors in all areas of athletics, recreation, performing and cultural arts, nature, fitness and wellness.
