But what we do is only part of the story. To get to our essence, you need to know why we do what we do. It comes down to two things that are each essential to human flourishing: community and lifelong learning.
Communities shape us, sustain us and bind us together. What’s at the heart of every community, be it a metropolis or a neighborhood? Schools, businesses and communal gathering places. That’s why we’re uncompromising on designing the very best of them.
In today’s ever-changing world, we must be lifelong learners. “I am still learning,” wrote Michelangelo at the age of 87. This is the inquisitive spirit we must all embrace, not just for career security but to become our fullest selves. That’s why lifelong learning influences all of our work.
