We strive to be an employer of choice, by providing the best benefits, organizational atmosphere, and opportunity that we are able to. A strong sense of comradery is important as is the ability to listen. We listen to our staff, listen to the needs of the seniors we support, listen to the needs of the communities we live in. We try to think positively and strive to make a positive impact on all. Our goal is for every employee, volunteer and client to feel safe and protected here at the Senior Friendship Centers, and we will take what we learn and live by example for our communities.
From an employer standpoint- we KNOW we cannot successfully achieve our Purpose, Vision and Mission without a team who shares the same values. Our teams has two staff members who have been with us 28 years, one person for 27 years and multiple staff in the double-digits behind them.
The SFC Fun Committee creates monthly "fun" for each team with a theme, managed by our People and Culture Manager. They also create an annual Retreat for staff with the sole purpose of team building, learning, having fun and NO drama! HR sponsors a Teams Wellness page where staff can share their ideas, a Team Friendship page where birthdays, anniversaries, and monthly FUN Committee posts. We have a culture of strong communication, lifelong learning.
