Salt Lake City Public Library
The Salt Lake City Public Library was established in 1898. At the time it occupied the top floor of the City-County Building and has since grown to include the five-story Main Library and seven branches that serve the neighborhoods of Salt Lake City. The City Library is a dynamic civic resource that promotes free and open access to information, materials, and services to all members of the community to advance knowledge, foster creativity, encourage the exchange of ideas, build community, and enhance the quality of life. In addition to printed materials, The City Library provides access to music, movies, computers and internet, creative software and hardware, and 24/7 digital resources. The City Library also hosts free classes, events, and activities open to all members of the community.
