SafelyYou
SafelyYou is a mission-driven company that raised $60m in 2021 through series A and series B financing and is now rapidly scaling. Our company spun out of the UC Berkeley AI Research Lab and develops artificial intelligence to support care for those with Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, and other cognitive impairments. Alzheimer’s disease is the single most expensive disease in the US, costing an estimated $600b per year in direct and indirect costs. Our first product is focused on reducing the frequency and impact of falls, the leading cause of hospitalization for those living with dementia. We have peer-reviewed results showing up to 80% fewer falls with an average of 40% fewer falls and 80% fewer ER visits from falls. With fewer and fewer young people available to provide the care needed, we must find a way for technology to bridge the gap.
Purpose

Vision
Create a world in which caring for seniors is worry-free for everyone, everywhere.

At SafelyYou, we strive to ensure the highest-quality care for seniors in any care setting, anywhere in the world, driven by proven AI, unmatched clinical expertise, and an immeasurable passion for caregiving.
Additional Culture Details
At SafelyYou, we strive to ensure that every team member is in a role that enables them to do work they care about and enables them to grow professionally and personally.
We seek to foster a culture of inclusion where individuals can reach their full potential and can bring their whole selves to work. We want our team members to feel like they belong and are valued for who they are. As a result, we approach employee care and career conversations differently. We seek to understand our team members as individuals and professionals to create an environment that sets them up for success.
For example, we have begun to implement unlimited PTO in recognition of helping our employees find a better work-life balance. In addition, we offer wellbeing reimbursement packages, which work for therapy session co-pays, life coaching, and fitness classes alike, since wellbeing looks different for each person.
To facilitate strong bonds, we also host regular Zoom events focused around diversity or inclusion or simply having fun together as a company. Over the holidays, we had a gingerbread house building contest, an ugly sweater party, and more.
We believe a critical part of being a top workplace is having high functioning teams of people who enjoy working with each other and work together efficiently, collaboratively, and make the sum of their work better for being together. That includes OKRs, which we tie at an individual and team level to the company’s overall OKRs for the year.
