SACU - San Antonio Federal Credit Union
On March 7, 1935, twelve federal government workers pooled their money to form the National Federation of Federal Employees Local No. 28, one of the first credit unions in San Antonio. Due to expanded membership, in 1949 Local #28 CU became Government Employees Credit Union (GECU) and in 1987, it became San Antonio Credit Union (SACU), adding “federal” in 1989 to reflect its new charter. Today, it is known as SACU. Our emphasis on strong member relationships have made SACU the success it is today with assets of more than $2.9 billion. The 253,000+ members that own SACU benefit from highly competitive rates and outstanding services. SACU offers a full range of financial services with a focus on the individual, with 18 locations and access to a network of surcharge free ATMs in greater SA; free Internet banking, bill payment, telephone account access, and much more. Each member is an equal owner of our cooperative. Our goal is to make it easy for members to do business with us.
