Russell-Murray Hospice takes care of terminally ill patients with a life expectancy of 6 month or less, in their home, whether their home is in the private home, Nursing Home, Assisted Living or hospital.
Purpose
To provide care to the terminally ill in there home, whether they have a pay source or not. We provide care to all persons who qualify for hospice care.
Vision
PHILOSOPHY
The Russell-Murray Hospice program is designed to fulfill the needs of the dying patient together with the needs of his or her family. This Hospice program will also make itself available to those family units faced with critical illness as it is felt that they, too, experience great many emotional, spiritual and practical problems as the terminally ill family unit, since the threat of death is present.
Hospice is dedicated to preserving the dignity, integrity, and personal choices of the patient and providing control of pain and other comfort measures, as well as the physical, emotional, and spiritual support for both patient and family.
The purpose of Hospice is to provide a program of services to the dying patient/family units – the goal of which is to allow for as natural a death as possible that is tranquil and dignified. To achieve this goal, palliative care of the patient will be provided.
Hospice care includes a holistic approach toward the patient/family and toward the issues of dying and death. The primary consideration is given to the need of sustaining the patient, as long as possible, in his/her home, surrounded and nurtured by family and friends.
