The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany supports a Catholic population of approximately 330,000 through its 127 parishes, 19 elementary parish schools and 4 high schools, campus, hospital and other social outreach ministries, located in 14 counties across New York State. The Diocesan main offices are staffed by approximately 80 lay employees, as well as a number of priests and women religious, who provide oversight and support services to the parishes and schools. Additionally, the Diocesan Cemeteries Office manages 15 Catholic cemeteries, with a staff of approximately 35. The Diocesan offices include such departments as Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Pastoral Planning, Real Property, Information Technology, Stewardship, Evangelization and Catechesis (faith formation/religious education), Catholic School Office, The Evangelist Newspaper, Pastoral Care, Prayer and Worship, Canonical Services, Formation for Lay Ministry, Office of the Diaconate, Vocations, and many others.
