RiverFront Investment Group
RiverFront Investment Group is a global asset manager utilizing a dynamic investment approach with uncommon transparency. As of October 31, 2018, we manage $7.9 billion in assets on behalf of more than 20,000 investors. We offer multiple asset allocation strategies tailored to different levels of risk and outcomes, as well as individual sub-advised exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Our discipline drives our process; making tactical and strategic adjustments to our portfolios based on a powerful practice we call the Art and Science of Dynamic Investing. Simply put, it’s what happens when our numbers, models, and data converge with our skill, experience, and logic. As we make changes and adjustments to our asset allocation portfolios, we openly share the details and rationale with our partner financial advisors. This unusual transparency is what allows RiverFront to build strong relationships.
Mission
We seek to lift the burdens of the financial markets off the shoulders of financial advisors and their clients.
Additional Culture Details
Culture at RiverFront Investment Group
RiverFront believes that it is important to identify and reinforce “Why” we come to work every day. After thoughtful discussion, we defined this as: “We seek to lift the burdens of the financial markets off the shoulders of financial advisors and their clients.” In order to successfully achieve this mission in an increasingly complex and often volatile industry, we believe it is imperative for our associates to feel healthy, appreciated, and motivated. For this reason, culture is a top priority at RiverFront!
In an effort to be sure ideas, opinions, questions, communications and opportunities are treated with equal importance throughout the firm, we implemented a program called LIFE – Leadership Is From Everyone. This initiative is guided by a Steering Group comprised of volunteers from various departments. Annually, we award the Kathy Wommack LIFE Award to the associate demonstrating the deepest commitment to the culture.
One of RiverFront’s major initiatives consists of monthly one-on-one meetings between associates and their managers, during which the agenda is completely driven by the associate. Each associate is encouraged to use that time to discuss anything important to them -- personal or professional. This initiative also includes opportunities for the associates’ families to come together at events like Family Day at Maymont, Holiday parties, and Charitable Activities, such as a fun afternoon spent with RiverFront kids decorating tissue boxes for patients at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. We also offer a Suggestion Box for people to anonymously ask questions or share ideas. We are extremely cognizant that the best ideas often come from introverts, so this option is another effort to be all-inclusive.
We also realize that the health of our associates is important. Many of our associates join sports leagues together, run marathons, attend exercise classes, and play golf or tennis together. For those looking to relieve a little stress at the office, we have a ping-pong table and a hover board!
Charitable Giving is also core to the culture at RiverFront. Associates are offered 1 hour per week of paid time-off to volunteer within the community. Currently, our associates are excitedly holiday shopping for eight families through the Christmas Mother program! RiverFront also offers all associates Matching Charitable Gifts and conducts a juried annual Charitable Partner program. The Charitable Partner recipient receives a meaningful monetary donation, and as importantly, a commitment from our team as volunteers for the year. We also enthusiastically support the local fine arts community.
RiverFront is located in Shockoe Slip. Being downtown in a historically renovated building is a huge part of who we are. All associates work in an open environment. Nobody has walls dividing them from their neighbor. This increases collaboration among teams and departments and creates a greater sense of community. We are proud to host hundreds of clients here annually to introduce them to our firm and especially, our people.
