Plante Moran Overview
Co-founder Frank Moran often referred to our firm as “a people firm disguised as an accounting firm.” Why? Because people are at the core of everything we do. It’s our excellent client servers and our extraordinary clients who serve as our major touchstones.
You see, at Plante Moran, an engagement is much more than a professional transaction. It’s a personal experience where clients are confident we’re looking out for them, no matter their size, location, or what goals they’ve set. With our seamless service, recognized expertise, and personal approach to relationships, our clients are sure to make the mark.
In our more than 95 years in business, we’ve grown to be one of the nation’s largest audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firms. Our more than 3,000 professionals are committed to exemplary client service every day.
Our core purpose is to be a caring, professional firm deeply committed to our clients' success.
Little of consequence is accomplished unless there is first a dream. After each dream comes the work to make the dream come true. Our Vision is that we will be relentless in our pursuit of providing 100 percent of our clients with unmatched service, and having 100 percent of our staff members realize professional and personal fulfillment while taking joy in making the dream come true.
Plante Moran will be a broad-based professional certified public accounting and consulting firm. We will proactively pursue and respond to the needs of clients by rendering a wide range of high-quality professional business consulting services commensurate with our collective abilities and representing true value in relation to cost. Although we will continue to operate the firm in conformance with sound business practices, we will remain a professional firm with our primary emphasis on serving, not profit.
Additional Culture Details
What differentiates Plante Moran? We focus on people, our clients and our staff. We believe our clients are the center of all we do and their satisfaction is our primary concern which is why we are focused on our staff. We strive to create an environment that the Partners and staff enjoy. As a result, our clients are served by people who enjoy what they do. We have a saying that we're "relatively jerk-free." The story behind the claim is that founding partner Frank Moran once told a fellow staff member that Plante Moran doesn’t hire jerks, hence leaving us jerk-free. But the staff member replied that we’re all jerks at times. Frank conceded this point and settled for the statement that we’re relatively jerk-free.
