Some refer to us as a commercial bank, but from our founding we named our firm Pinnacle Financial Partners because we wanted to stress the fact that we want to be the financial partners for our clients while providing a wide variety of services: banking, investments and trust, mortgage and insurance services to consumers and businesses.

Additional Culture Details

Pinnacle is all about partnership -- partnership between associates, with clients and with our communities. In that vein, ALL Pinnacle associates are eligible for annual cash incentives that are based on firm-wide results as opposed to individual production goals that tend to reward only a few. The program allows all associates – no matter their role – the opportunity to earn up to 10%-20% of base pay in a cash incentive annually. This reinforces the firm’s mantra that we win as a team and lose as a team. In 2021, the firm’s board agreed to change the incentive plan to allow associates to make up the part of their 2020 incentive that was unachievable due to the pandemic. Hence, the 2021 incentive that associates received in January 2022 was the largest in the firm's history.
Pinnacle also reinforces partnership by giving every associate restricted stock upon hire and annually with a satisfactory or better performance review. So every associate is literally an owner in the firm.
Pinnacle is so serious about its culture that the CEO and other senior leaders host a three-day orientation with every new associate to help them understand how and why Pinnacle is unique and understand their role in contributing to the culture. These sessions were cancelled due to the pandemic and re-started in February this year. The firm also has a Knoxville Culture Club with associates from all levels and functional areas to help reinforce and strengthen the culture from the ground up.
