Philadelphia Corporation for Aging

PCA was established in 1973 to serve as the Area Agency on Aging for Philadelphia. We are the designated recipient of funding for services to older Philadelphians from the federal Older Americans Act, Medical Assistance and the PA Lottery, funneled through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Each year, PCA helps more than 100,000 older Philadelphians and people with disabilities, either through direct service or via information and referral. Services we provide or fund include: assessment and care management; home-delivered meals; care at home; senior community centers, including congregate meals; home modifications and repairs; legal assistance; benefit and insurance counseling; caregiver resources; respite care; transportation; senior companions; RSVP; employment programs; and protective services. PCA maintains the Helpline Call Center which in 2009 took 102,185 calls; among them were 2022 reports for protective services and 19,253 requests for long-term care.
