Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts (PHSSA), is Virginia’s first charter elementary school, a 2022 US Green Ribbon School Award Winner, and a Special Olympics Unified Champion School. We cultivate a culture of literacy through environmental science and arts education. Using the integrated curriculum model, students learn in the outdoor classroom, our Victory Garden, Reedy Creek, and Forest Hill Park. Our students represent all parts of the City of Richmond, learn through real experiences, while we set high expectations for student achievement and growth. We are a proud Title I School, where students are moving up to their "yet" and improving socioemotionally. At PHSSA, we all strive to be life-long learners who model a respectful and caring school culture where students feel valued and appreciated. We believe in building partnerships between school, home, and community which help children become empowered to fulfill their dreams.
