Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation
For more than 116 years, the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation has provided superior care, in a warm and supportive environment, within the New York metropolitan region. Parker’s roots date back to 1907, and since then, the Institute has expanded access to advanced health care and rehabilitation, with compassion and dedication. Parker continues to expand access to care and to add services that enhance the lives of older adults, whether they are patients or residents at the Institute’s expansive campus, or aging in place. Parker’s robust services include Short Term Rehabilitation and Long Term Care.
As New York’s population ages, an increasing number of older adults and their families will look to Parker for its comprehensive health-care services. To meet that demand, Parker will further enhance its position as a trusted resource to the region. At the forefront of innovation in patient-centered health care and technology, Parker will strive to advance in its role as a leader in teaching and geriatric research. With Parker’s own medical department, the Institute will seek to build on its current, nationally renowned reputation as a skilled nursing facility. Parker will further develop as a provider of community-based health care, encompassing Home Health Care, Medical House Calls, Palliative Care and Hospice, keeping in-tune with evolving needs. Parker’s Nerken Center for Research and Grants will grow in its role as a world citizen by providing unparalleled teaching and geriatric research, sharing innovations and best practices with the international medical community. Parker’s Therapeutic Recreation Department will further cultivate dynamic programming that engages our patients and residents to achieve the best level of health possible. Parker will continue to house the Queens-Long Island Renal Institute, Inc., so patients get the very best and most convenience care, as led by an interdisciplinary team of experienced Nephrologists and Dialysis Registered Nurses, a Renal Social Worker and a Registered Renal Dietitian.
Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation's mission is to provide, with compassion and dedication, superior quality health care and rehabilitation for adults. Through continual improvement of Parker's programs and services, it will be a leader in health care delivery and education.
