Additional Culture Details
We celebrate silly national holidays each month – as an example, for National Tooth Fairy Day we leave tooth-shaped gummies on everyone’s desks along with a chocolate coin and dental floss. Occasionally we host a random spirit day where we asked team members to wear their favorite superhero shirts or dress like nerds to work just for fun. But the team’s favorite events are the community-based ones. Most recently we organized a professional clothing drive benefiting our local St. James Baptist Church. We joined efforts to help one of their congregation’s community outreach programs “Career Closet Clothing Ministry." Its purpose is to collect professional clothing for people who cannot afford to dress up for interviews. No one should miss out on a job opportunity because they do not have professional attire. We also really enjoyed organizing and participating in the “Spread Joy Toy Drive” for Toy Nicklaus Children’s Hospital – we collected over 300 toys. And we loved transforming our office into a haunted house experience for neighborhood kids for Halloween. As our CEO John Lie-Nielsen said “Halloween is a holiday that celebrates the power of imagination and the ability to make dreams come true. Making the seemingly impossible possible for small business owners is what we do year-round at One Park Financial. It’s great to have a special day to share this spirit with our community’s kids.” We’re already planning for this year’s Halloween event!
