Ohio Housing Finance Agency
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) facilitates the development, rehabilitation and financing of low- to moderate-income housing. The Agency administers programs that help finance and develop affordable housing through partnerships with nonprofit developers and other community organizations.
OHFA also helps Ohioans purchase homes through competitive interest rates, mortgage tax credits and down payment assistance. Thousands of low- and moderate-income Ohioans have purchased homes thanks to OHFA’s 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage loans.
In addition to helping Ohioans purchase homes and find housing, OHFA also helps people keep their homes. Since 2010, OHFA has administered the Save the Dream program, which helps distressed homeowners avoid foreclosure, get up-to-date on their mortgages and stay in their homes. OHFA also stabilizes property values in neighborhoods by removing and greening vacant or blighted properties through the Neighborhood Initiative Program (NIP).
