OCFS Human Services Contact Center
The Human Services Contact Center (HSCC), a division of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, provides telephone, email, and chat customer service on behalf of eleven New York State agencies. Established in 2013 as part of the Consolidated Call Center Project, the HSCC fields an average of 5,000 calls each day on over 60 lines of business. The HSCC’s highly-trained call center representatives provide information about a wide variety of topics including the Medical Cannabis Program and the Paid Family Leave program. More recently, the HSCC came together to assist with New York’s COVID-19 response efforts by scheduling COVID-19 testing appointments and surveying health care volunteers.

The Human Services Call Center (HSCC) strives to create a fun, friendly, supportive environment for its staff. In the past, managers dished out sundaes at the Ice Cream Social and routinely roll out the ice cream cart after busy days. Most recently, the HSCC thanked staff for their hard work on a day with high call volume by giving out gift cards. On various theme days throughout the year, staff members are encouraged to come to work in their favorite football team’s jersey or wear a special color to support charitable causes.
