Purpose

The Supreme Court is the state's highest court and its primary responsibility is to review and rule on appeals from District Court cases. The Court is supported by lawyers, law clerks, specialized administrative and program staff, and chambers assistants.

The Administrative Office of the Courts strives to be an influential and respected voice for the Nevada Judiciary. The AOC acts to support the Chief Justice in fulfilling his or her constitutional responsibility to be the administrative head of the Branch. The AOC provides a number of programs and services for both the appellate and trial courts, as well as, administrative, accounting, information technology, and human resources expertise.

The Clerk's Office is where you can ask questions regarding the status of a case, find records relating to cases pending before the court, and file briefs and other documents. In addition to being the custodian of the courts' records, the clerk keeps the courts' dockets, schedules oral arguments, and issues writs at the direction of the courts. The Clerk's Office also administers the Settlement Program and oversees the courts' publications.

The Law Library serves as a current and archival resource for legal research conducted by the Justices and staff of the Nevada Appellate Court, and the public.

The Marshals Office is responsible for the provision of security services for the Justices and Judges, Court employees, members of the public who enter the Court, and property of the Court.
