MPR was founded in 1964 by three engineers from Admiral Hyman Rickover’s Naval nuclear propulsion program, after they led the development of the USS NAUTILUS (the first nuclear-powered submarine) and the Shippingport Atomic Power Station, the world’s first grid-connected nuclear power facility.
