Mesquite Independent School District
MISD’s mission is to educate all of its 37,000 students and empower them to expand their opportunities. The district’s philosophy is that when students are challenged with high expectations and a rigorous curriculum, they will excel. Students’ talent and drive are cultivated through involvement in extracurricular programs and opportunities. MISD’s administrators and educators believe in never giving up on a single student.
Mesquite ISD encompasses an area of approximately 60 square miles along either side of I-635 in east Dallas County. With a total of 46 campuses, this includes 32 elementary schools, eight middle schools, five high schools and the Mesquite Academy for nontraditional students.
In Mesquite ISD, college readiness is addressed in two ways: preparing students socially and emotionally for the college experience and providing a strong advanced academic program.
