Mary Greeley Medical Center is an award-winning regional hospital, providing high quality, cost effective health care to people throughout central Iowa. Patient care services include cardiac care, cancer care, obstetrics, diabetes and nutrition care, emergency services, mental health services, surgical services, hospice, public health, home medical and palliative care . Mary Greeley employs over 1,300 people and is the second largest employer in Ames. Mary Greeley has a strong partnership with McFarland Clinic, a multi-specialty clinic providing care for people throughout central Iowa. The hospital also partnerships with Doran Clinic for Women, Iowa Heart Center, Wolfe Eye Clinic and several other area providers. In 2011, Mary Greeley broke ground on the largest capital improvement in its history. The $130 million project includes a new six-story patient tower with larger patient rooms that opened in spring 2014, and an expanded emergency department that will be completed in 2016.
