Mainstay Life Services (Mainstay) is a nonprofit organization that provides services and supports for people who live with all levels of intellectual disabilities and autism (ID/A). Our support is person-centered and individualized. Mainstay helps people to live meaningful and successful lives, while supporting them as they learn new skills, develop friendships, and give back to their community. Many people we work for are fully involved in the community, with gainful employment, self-sufficiency, and independence.
Mainstay supports 335+ people, and their families, throughout southwestern PA. We are committed to providing high-quality programs and services that help people to live their best lives as they choose. Our services include: Residential, Supported Living, Life Sharing, Prader-Willi Syndrome Supports, Technology Supports, Employment Supports, In-Home and Community Support, Community Participation Support, Behavioral and Clinical Supports, and more.

Vision
People with intellectual disabilities and autism (ID/A) will live within a community that sustains them and benefits from their participation. Mainstay will be regarded as the region’s provider of choice for individuals and families seeking services, and as the region’s employer of choice for qualified and committed professionals.

Dignity: We treat each person with the dignity they deserve. By serving as respectful role models, we encourage positive self-esteem and achievement.
Respect: We respect the unique talents, skills, and challenges of each person, and provide the specialized services they need to achieve optimal independence and happiness.
Responsiveness: We are flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the people we support, and we continuously adapt our services to suit their specific abilities, requirements, and requests.
Sensitivity: We provide support with invaluable guidance and sensitivity as the people we support take on active roles in their communities.
A top priority for Mainstay is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion; we recently added Belonging to DEI, making it DEIB. Mainstay affirms that DEIB makes us stronger, enhances our community, and supports the fulfillment of our mission. Mainstay has established DEIB employee metrics which are being measured and holding us accountable to our commitment. In addition, we continue to make efforts to diversify our suppliers, and have a staff-led committee for DEIB which reports to our Board of Directors.
