Since we design workplaces where people want to be, we put those same practices into our office. Beyond daylighting, space planning, and aesthetics, we go to great lengths to protect our culture and keep us feeling like family, no matter how large we grow. We work hard and play hard. At the end of every week, we have Beer:30, an in-house happy hour to unwind and bring us all back together.
We’re a pretty competitive bunch (for people who usually got picked last for dodgeball). And we work together to help others. Our Gensler Cup Golf Tournament raised more than $38,000 last year to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.
Each Movember, dozens of shaggy beards are grown, then shaved into ridiculous mustaches, with all proceeds benefiting men’s health. Monthly Office Meetings (no, they’re actually fun), Wellness Week, Earth Week, HUGE Christmas Parties, Hearts and Hammers, Retrospect, Chili Cook-offs, and Annual Picnics are among the other activities that keep us close, keep us humble, and keep us laughing together, which is what family is all about.
