Loyola Press
Purpose
Loyola Press was founded in 1912 by Father William P. Lyons, SJ as a non-profit Catholic publishing ministry of the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus for over 100 years, our mission has been to lead people to Jesus and to facilitate transformative experiences of God so that people of all ages can lead holy and purposeful lives with and for others. In addition to our spirituality and faith formation offerings for infants through adults with books, media, and video games, we are pleased to serve the pre-kindergarten through Grade 8 literacy community with our highly regarded English Language Arts programs. This year we are proud to bring to market important works that bring hope and healing including Spiritual Practices for the Brain: Caring for Mind, Body, and Soul by Anne Kertz Kernion and Helping Families Recover from Addiction: Coping, Growing, and Healing through 12-Step Practices and Ignatian Spirituality by Jean Heaton. One of our most recent trade offerings, Sharing the Wisdom of Time, is now the subject of a forthcoming Netflix docuseries premiering later this year. To accomplish our goals, the company culture of Loyola Press is collaborative, caring, and mission centered. For staff, we work to employ the Jesuit value of “cura personalis,” a Latin phrase meaning "care for the whole person.”
Vision
The vision statement for Loyola Press is as follows: Honoring and sustaining your desire for a deeper friendship with God. While Loyola Press is a company rooted in the Catholic faith, our vision for the organization respects all who might have interest in our materials, regardless of their faith tradition. The Jesuit motto of “finding God in all things” provides us with an expansive path forward to reach beyond our typical audiences and methods of delivery—allowing us national and international outreach to people of all ages.

Mission
At Loyola Press, we help all people find God in all things. Everything we do is “for the greater honor and glory of God.” This phrase is the motto of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and flows from Saint Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises. The aim of the exercises is to guide the seeker toward an inner freedom that allows a wholehearted yes to a life in God. We understand the power of the written word, of image, of media in nurturing a vibrant relationship with God and others—so we see our mission as a “noble cause,” and we work diligently each day to accomplish our goals. Our Mission Statement is as follows: In the spirit of Saint Ignatius of Loyola who points us always to personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and in response to those we serve, we create books and multi-media products that facilitate transformative experiences of God so that people of all ages can lead holy and purposeful lives with and for others.
