Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor. Lou got his start in the 1940’s working alongside his father in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood where he & his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Aficionados of Chicago-style deep dish pizza lined the streets on opening day for just a taste. Lou’s sons, Marc & Rick, have carried on Lou’s vision of making the greatest deep dish pizza on the planet. Each pizza is handmade from scratch using the finest and freshest ingredients. The next generation of this family owned & operated company, now with over 60 locations & growing, has continued to prosper thanks to dedicated staff & loyal customers. Lou Malnati’s Tastes of Chicago division ships more than 250,000 pizzas a year, & the catering division caters to more than 10,000 families, businesses & organizations each year.

We continue to invest radically in building a relationally sound culture from the inside-out. Staff members have a strong tendency to stay once they become a part of our team. 15% of our full-timers have been with us for more than 10 yrs, a statistic that is unheard of in the restaurant business. Each year we celebrate our team members’ growth and successes by recognizing 5,10, 20, 30 and 40 year employees. Promotion within the organization is commonplace and many team members across all levels, including our current Chief Operating Officer, Regional and District Managers have moved up the ranks from entry level positions.
