Additional Culture Details
The foundation of Lou Malnati’s culture was laid down more than 52 years ago and has been built upon ever since. The reason the foundation has remained intact is due in large part to the company standing firm to its core values of THE GIFT (Teamwork, Hospitality, Excellence, Growth, Integrity, Family, and Tradition). The effort to keep these values intact and instill them in Team Members has paid off, as 10 percent of their full-time staff have a retention rate of 10 years or more, well above industry average. Of course, this sort of loyalty to the Malnati brand is recognized, and each year Team Members are celebrated throughout the company for milestone anniversaries (5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years). On top of that, Lou’s prides itself on investing in its most outstanding workers through internal promotions. The current Chief Operating Officer, along with several Regional and District Managers, started off in entry level positions. By promoting from within, the company maintains a strong grip on the culture it prides itself on. “Care” has been a word used by the company from the very beginning and is something that is shared with one another, their customers, and their communities.
