Long Island Select Healthcare, Inc. (LISH) is a Multi-Specialty Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Central Islip. As an FQHC, LISH is a private non-profit entity that is designed to serve the medically and economically underserved population of Central Islip and Suffolk County. The Mission Statement of LISH is "Provide affordable quality and comprehensive healthcare respecting the unique abilities and needs of individuals across their lifespan".
LISH is required to provide services to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. The uninsured are charged for services on a board-approved sliding-fee scale, which is based on a patient’s family income and size. LISH is financed through a mix of Medicaid and Medicare.
