Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is a not-for-profit healthcare organization dedicated to the mission of improving the health of the community.
LMH remains responsive to the healthcare needs of the Licking County area that it has served since 1898. Our facility offers a full spectrum of quality patient care services, from emergency medicine to home healthcare. In addition, LMHS offers specialized services in areas such as cancer, heart, maternity, and mental health.
LMHS has a group of 100-plus physicians in various practices known as the LMHP. Physician offices are located throughout Licking County, including Granville, Hanover, Heath, Hebron, Johnstown, Newark, and Pataskala.
LMHS has remained at the forefront of patient safety and implementing state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest quality care for patients and visitors. LMHS 2,500 employees are highly trained and compassionate individuals serving the community.

Purpose
Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is a not-for-profit healthcare organization dedicated to the mission of improving the health of the community. The role that LMHS plays is essential to the health and economic wellbeing of the people it serves. Fiscal responsibility has allowed LMHS the ability to acquire the resources to provide services and facilities that are also found in larger, metropolitan hospitals, making LMHS uniquely equipped to provide quality healthcare close to home. Community outreach and involvement provides the ultimate sense of trust between patients, community members, and healthcare providers.
Vision
LMHS’ vision is to be the best community healthcare provider in the State of Ohio. LMHS continuously evaluates the health needs of the community to determine which medical advances would best serve the health of its residents. This includes recruiting new specialists and surgeons, acquiring new technologies to benefit the Hospital, and access to comprehensive services, such as Vascular Surgery, Urology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Heart Care, to ensure that Licking County residents need not travel far to receive quality healthcare.
Mission
As the sole hospital and health provider in Licking County, Licking Memorial Health Systems’ (LMHS) mission is to improve the health of the community. LMHS, its dedicated employees, Medical Staff, volunteers, and community members continually explore effective ways to influence local residents to make positive changes for better long-term health. Free community wellness programs encourage youth and seniors to live active, healthy lifestyles, and community outreach services such as free immunization clinics, sports screenings, health centers, education classes, and health fairs offer access to medical services and resources that residents need to make informed decisions about their health.
Additional Culture Details
LMHS fosters a culture of inclusion, appreciation, and recognition of its employees. Several recognition events are held throughout the year to express appreciation and gratitude toward dedicated staff members and volunteers. Token of Appreciation cards are available for employees to acknowledge their peers for a job well done. Employees are invited to participate in birthday celebrations hosted by LMHS President & CEO Rob Montagnese and the opportunity to win prizes.
