L’Arche St Louis
L'Arche St. Louis is a community in St. Louis that provides residential, day, and family support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our strength lies in the mutual relationships and belonging between people with and without disabilities.
Purpose
L’Arche St. Louis exists to create a community where people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together. We strive to recognize the gifts and belonging of each individual across all levels of ability. Guided by the values of compassion, respect, and joy, we strive to be a sign of hope that a more human and connected world is possible.
Vision
We strive to be a model of a broader, more inclusive humanity - one that cherishes each individual human, recognizing that each person is worthy of love and belonging. We want to continually challenge ourselves to question what it means to be an inclusive community in today’s increasingly diverse society.
Mission
The mission of L'Arche is to make known the gifts of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationships; to respond to the changing needs of our members, while being faithful to the core values of our founding story; and to engage in our diverse cultures, working together towards a more human society.
Values
- Dignity
- We strive to recognize and honor the inherent worth of every person—regardless of ability, role, or background. It’s not something earned; it’s something we acknowledge as a fundamental truth about every human being.
